Army Physical Fitness Testing and Body Composition

All service members must have a current physical fitness test and must meet Body Composition standards.

Typically, units do not administer the Army Physical Fitness Test during annual training, however if the unit desires to give the APFT to its members, the unit is responsible for the total set up/supervision of the event.  See Troop Command S3 to request equipment and land usage.  Individual physical fitness training is highly encouraged, but it is recommended that Soldiers do PT around their scheduled duty time.

Unit members are required to take and pass an APFT test semi-annually, IRR service members annually.  IRR service members must bring a copy of their current APFT results, with copies of any profiles, when reporting for duty at TAMC.  AR 600-9 and AFI 10-248 specify standards for Body Composition.
