What kind of US Army Reserve programs are available to someone whose Active
Duty (AD) obligation has been met?
Most soldiers are eligible to participate in at least three of the following
four programs: Troop Program Unit; National AMEDD Augmentation Detachment;
Individual Mobilization Augmentation, and Individual Ready Reserve.
Each program enables participants to preserve and capitalize on their AD
military investment. For more information, contact your local

Can
active duty soldiers serving in
Hawaii
attend local Officer Professional Development Courses taught by the Army
Reserve?
Yes.
The Combined Arms and Service Staff School (CAS3) and Command and General
Staff Officer Course (CGSC) are offered by the 4960th Multi-functional
Training Brigade. You can reach the 9th RSC School Technician at
433-1600 ext. 3136 for further information.

am in the Service, but not the Army. Can I perform annual training at
Tripler
Army
Medical
Center
(TAMC)?
Yes.
However you must get authorization from your chain of command and Tripler
must approve your request. Be advised that funding is the sole
responsibility of your chain of command. Tripler approves training
requests based upon mission requirements and workload.

Should I bring my Class A
uniform?
Those coming for unit Annual Training (AT) should follow their unit's
guidance. Class A uniforms are optional for those coming for
individual AT. All others should bring their Class A uniforms, as you
will likely need it during your tour here.

Should I plan to purchase a
privately-owned vehicle (POV)?
Although not required, POVs are highly recommended for those coming on
deployment orders. Government transportation to and from Tripler is
furnished for those residing at Ft. Shafter and Schofield Barracks, and
those staying at Tripler Lodging are within walking distance. Without
a POV, your access to transportation during your free time is limited.
