Gipson receives Purple Heart from Pacific Forces Commander


Spc. Kenneth Gipson is congratulated by Adm. Thomas B. Fargo, commander of U. S. Pacific Command, who pinned on his Purple Heart in a bedside ceremony at Tripler Army Medical Center on Nov. 2. Gipson was wounded by a roadside bomb while on convoy duty near Kirkuk. He is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment at Schofield Barracks.
