Otolaryngology
Residency Information & Education
We are privileged to run an extremely successful Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Residency program and the only one in the State of Hawaii.
Medical student clerkships are available year-round and may be arranged through Tripler's Graduate Medical Education office.
Clerkships are designed to give the medical student a perspective into this surgical subspecialty. Medical students will be an integral part of the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgical team and will be directly responsible for patient care in a supervised fashion. The basic techniques of a head and neck exam are taught. Evaluation and treatment of general ENT problems in a clinical setting under direct supervision and opportunities to participate in the operating room will be provided. In addition, the student will be part of the team on inpatient rounds and inpatient care. There is no in-house call; however, call from home may be expected while on the rotation.
There is no housing available but assistance in finding accommodations will be provided. For more information on the clerkship, please contact Dr. Michael Holtel, program director, 808-433-3170.
To arrange a rotation, contact Gladys
