CAPT Mike Holtel
Service Chief

Our clinic staff is made up by talented members of all three armed services.  These staff members are led by our Clinic NCO, SGT Tim Riutta and our two senior nurses, Jim Hill and Jackie Smith.   Together, these team leaders have almost 70 years of invaluable experience in patient care.  They are always available for your questions.

Thirteen ENT care providers are available for appointments.  These providers are led by a team of five staff surgeons.  These surgeons represent the only ENT group in Hawaii that provides the full range of ENT sub-specialty care.  Their training includes both military medical education as well as civilian training at centers which include Harvard, Vanderbilt, the scores within the top ten percent of all groups in the country, military or civilian, on their yearly competitive examinations.

The ENT clinic at Tripler Army Medical Center is one of the busiest in the hospital.  We routinely see over 12,000 patients per year and perform more than 2,500 surgical procedures.  Our safety record is excellent and statistically well above published national averages.  We offer comprehensive ENT care for patients of all ages, newborn to geriatric.

This clinic could not begin to provide care without the help of our audiology and speech pathology

departments which are found directly across the hall from our entranceway.  These groups provide both pre-operative and post-operative care as well as consultative input at all levels.  They offer the full range of services available in their fields and represent the most highly-trained group of providers in the state.

As our department head says, we are military families serving military families.   Thank you.  Please feel free to provide feedback regarding your care and let us know if we can help in any other way.

MAJ Ben Cable, Staff Surgeon
